Data protection isn't a checkbox for us – it's architecture. While many providers record conversations, Synora processes speech only transiently in memory – EU-only, no recording, with a DPA. That's the sharpest trust advantage in the premium segment.
An AI phone assistant is only as trustworthy as the way it handles callers' data. Synora is built so that no phone call ever exists as an audio file: speech is converted to text in real time and the memory is released afterwards. Only the transcript and the structured fields are stored – on servers in the EU, with a data processing agreement and a transparent AI notice.

Data protection that is more than a promise
No call recording
Calls are not recorded and never written to a storage medium. Speech is only briefly converted to text in memory – in line with § 201 of the German Criminal Code. No audio, no recording, no risk.
EU-only processing
All processing takes place on servers within the EU. No third-country transfer by default, no grey area – GDPR compliant from the very first call.
DPA included
We provide a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) as standard. You remain the controller; we are your processor acting on your instructions.
AI transparency (EU AI Act)
On request, callers are told at the start that a digital assistant is supporting the conversation – in line with Art. 50 of the EU AI Act (effective 02 Aug 2026). Transparency as a trust signal.
Data minimisation & short retention
Only the text transcript and the structured fields are stored – and only for a short, defined period. Whatever isn't needed is deleted.
PII protection in logs
Identifying information is removed automatically from technical logs. Personal data lives in structured fields – not in log files.
Why “no recording” is the difference
Recording the non-public spoken word without authorisation is a criminal offence in Germany (§ 201 of the Criminal Code) – a phone call is non-public. Solutions that record calls shift that risk onto your business. Synora avoids it by design: there simply is no recording anyone could replay, hand over or lose.
